HONOR COMMITTEE
Honorary Chairmanship

S.M. Felipe VI
President of the Honorary Committee
The chemical industry, beyond its contribution to generating wealth and quality employment, must be, through the development of innovative processes and technologies, the essential sector in the search for solutions to the great objectives of sustainable development, particularly those related to decarbonization and the fight against climate change.
Since 1800, when two British chemists first performed electrolysis of water for its production, hydrogen has been fundamental to the development of multiple industrial and social advances. Already in the 20th century, hydrogen began as an energy vector, becoming in the present century an indispensable element to achieve climate neutrality.
Therefore, I share the need for a meeting in which all the actors involved can address the development of green hydrogen production, bringing together public administrations, companies, and organizations dedicated to research, technological development, and innovation, all fundamental actors to effectively address the necessary changes in processes and production models.
Given the commitments shared by the European Union, the Government of Spain, and the industry itself, to achieve climate neutrality by 2050, our country must play a pioneering and leading role. And precisely Huelva, with its significant industrial presence and experience, constitutes an ideal and strategic enclave for the development of first-level projects in the production of green hydrogen, as is already happening, and to host this first national congress.
For all these reasons, it would be an honor for me if you could be part of the Honorary Committee of the 1st National Congress on Green Hydrogen.
Hoping that you can confirm your participation in the Honorary Committee, receive our warmest regards,
Teresa Rasero (President of the Honorary Committee of the 1st National Congress on Green Hydrogen).
